The story of the Financier
The name given to the famous “financier” cake comes from a pastry chef named Lasne. He had a shop not far from the Bourse, so most of his customers were people working in finance who wanted to enjoy small delicacies in a short time and without getting their hands dirty. It was at this point that Lasne had the idea of changing the shape and name of this pastry so that it took the shape of a gold bar, thus recalling the world of financiers.
