How to choose the right size cake mould?
When looking for a silicone cake mould, size is a crucial factor to consider. Choosing the right size silicone cake mould is essential to get the desired result and ensure even baking. But how do you choose the right size silicone cake mould?
First of all, consider the number of cakes you want to make. If you are making a large number of cakes at the same time, then choose a tray with several cavities. On the other hand, if you make a lot of cakes to share, then a single cake tin will be sufficient. In our range of silicone cake moulds, some silicone baking trays allow you to make up to 36 cakes in one baking session.
If you are looking to make small cakes, then our multi-cell silicone baking trays will suffice. But if you want to make larger cakes, which can be shared by several people. We advise you to choose silicone cake moulds with only one cell.
Please note that when looking for a cake mould, you must take into account the size of your oven. Indeed, some silicone moulds are only suitable for professional ovens. This is the case with silicone moulds that measure 400x600mm. It is also important to take into account the height of the mould if you want to make a multi-layer cake.
Finally, don’t forget that the size of your cake tin will determine the baking time of your cake. A cake that bakes in a smaller mould will need less baking time. A cake that bakes in a smaller pan will need less time to bake, whereas a cake that bakes in a larger pan will need more time to bake.

Recommendations for use of silicone cake moulds

Maé professional silicone cake moulds are made with 100% premium silicone and are suitable for food contact. Maé’s silicone moulds comply with the specifications of article 6 of the decree of 25 November 1992 for use with aqueous and acidic foods, as well as fatty foods for which the 85/572/EEC directive provides a reduction coefficient of 3 or more (bakery products, pastries, confectionery, fruit, fish, cheese, chocolates, ready meals, etc.).
CAUTION :
- Do not use sharp or abrasive tools or accessories.
- Do not bring the plates and moulds into contact with a flame. The risk is the simple disintegration of the material since it is self-extinguishing.
- Adapt the firing times and temperatures to the oven used. It is recommended to use a perforated support (perforated aluminium plate or grid).
